My journey for a fit lifestyle

I want to start off my saying that all bodies are beautiful and self love is important. With that I'll get started with my journey I've started. 2017 I'm really trying to make a big change for myself, not just for the present but also for the future. As long as I can remember I've always been thin. I like to say it's mostly because of genetics and having a fast metabolism. Both my parents have pretty much been the same size their whole lives. In high school I was definitely my thinnest I've ever been. I've struggled with ADHD my whole life. In high school I tried every type of medication for it you could think of. When I was a senior I finally decided to get off the medication. It grew to be an appetite depressant. I just wouldn't get hungry. I was fairly active but also snacked a lot instead of eating complete meals. I've been 5'7 for years now even in high school with my lowest weigh of 93 and a body fat of 11%. I remember being bullied about how my back side looked like my front side. Much of what I remember of high school is how I got accused of being anorexic and bulimic. Finally I got somewhat better at eating meals. When I finally graduated in 2010 I entered the three digits. I remember being so excited and happy. My parents celebrated by taking me out to dinner for steak. Though I had broke into the 100's it was just the beginning of my journey. Isn't it funny once you start growing up & looking pretty the people who used to bully you in high school now want to be your friend??

Though I'm now 25, I'm still underweight. I've stayed consistent with staying in the three digits. Which has been one of the hardest parts. I've never been the type of girl to diet nor have I ever needed too. But I don't like to label myself as someone who has an eating disorder. I honestly just think I forget to eat sometimes during the day because I'll be super busy with work. Doesn't mean I don't get hungry it's just my focus is somewhere else. Honestly since getting my FitBit during Christmas has really helped me track my exercise and what I eat. I've learned most days I can go to work skipping breakfast. Eating a mid afternoon snack then being able to hold myself off until around 6-7 when I eat dinner. That is by no means a healthy lifestyle. I really need to focus on getting those extra calories rather than barely making 500 a day. Even being in my mid twenties I'm still learning to actually eat three main meals a day. Snacking is helpful during the day because it's grab & go while I'm working. Or as my mom calls it I love to "Graze". I'm still learning about what foods will help me put on weight but also not just eating empty carbs. Would love any advice from someone who can help.

So this year I've set some goals. Some with deadlines, some without. One of my worst traits I would say is I lack motivation. Like severely lack motivation, it's really bad. I haven't ran in years and I'm trying to now train for a Warrior Dash which is a 5k with obstacles. Basically a muddy pit. I have about 6 months to train for it. Which I'll need all the help I can get. When I last ran a mile I think it took me about 13 minutes. But since I haven't ran in about 7 years I've had to start by hardcore power walking then running two minutes at a time. It's going to be a long process for me but I know it'll be rewarding. I also feel like whenever I run I always feel faint like I'm dizzy so hopefully I'll get over that. I also want to put on weight. Focusing on my arms and well my butt.... Some challenges I face are that I am pretty out of shape. My knees seem to "pop" when I bend them, so basically whenever I do squats. My back also tends to hurt most times during the end of the day. So one of my other goals is to focus on strengthening that. It really shouldn't hurt from me doing minimal work during the day. I'm gonna try to at least see changes in my body in hopefully about 3 months. I'm gonna write down my measurements mostly for myself, but also just to keep track. Here's to healthier lifestyle and being stronger.
Age: 25
Height: 5'7
Weight: 106.2
Remember I would love any tips for workouts, advice, or proper food to consume. I'm very new to all of this. I will add my sizes when I get a legit measuring tape but for now this will work.
